Police Arrests NUP Leaders over Independence Day Celebrations
Security operatives have arrested National Unity Platform NUP party leaders at the party headquarters in Kamwokya.
According to sources, a joint security team the headquarters to prevent the leaders from addressing the country on Uganda's 61st 'independence' day.
The NUP leaders arrested include, the Secretary General David Rubongoya, the Spokesperson Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi and scores of other comrades are now detained at Kira Road and other Police Stations around the city.
NUP party recently announced that they would lead prayers at their headquarters because as Uganda has 61 years since independence, the abduction of NUP supporters, the trial of civilians in military courts and the arrest of political leaders continues.
