Police Kill Suspected Armed Robber In Nansana Operation

 Police have shot dead a suspected armed robber who was found with blood stained panga and wanted to attack police officers on operation to crack down criminal gangs in Nansana municipality Wakiso district. 

Since March 27th 2024 , the Directorate of Crime Intelligence, in collaboration with Kampala Metropolitan police have been diligently investigating a recent surge in violent crimes within the Kampala Metropolitan area. 

However, Today , 6th April 2024 while responding to crucial information in Nasere zone, Gganda Parish, Nansana municipality, regarding the whereabouts of a dangerous gang leader, only known as Pius, police task team encountered the suspect. 

This individual, presumably on a robbery mission, was armed with a blood-stained panga.

ASP Luke Owoyesigire the police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan told this spyreports publication that, in the process of apprehending him, despite multiple warnings, the suspect aggressively advanced towards police officers 

To prevent further harm, the officers were compelled to discharge their firearms, resulting in the suspect sustaining fatal injuries that resulted to her death. He confirmed. 

Further investigation has revealed that the deceased suspect, along with accomplices who are still at large with some under arrest, have been involved in numerous aggressive robbery incidents within the Kampala Metropolitan area.said Luke Owoyesigire. 

These criminal activities have been orchestrated by a network of small groups, requiring dedicated task teams to dismantle them effectively.

The body of the deceased has been respectfully conveyed to the City Mortuary, Mulago, where a postmortem examination will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation into this incident.
