Police Officer Arrested over Dumping Garbage in Nakivubo

Detectives attached to Central Police Station CPS Kampala are holding one of their officers who was seen in a video dumping garbage in the nakivubo Channel. The arrested officer has been identified as Police Constable, Moses Ssekyewa attached to CPS Kampala.

Luke owoyesigire the deputy police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan confirmed the arrest saying that investigations have so far started. "Police constable Moses Ssekyewa from CPS Kampala has been apprehended today July 14th, 2023. He was caught red-handed in a video dumping trash into Nakivubo Channel. More details will be provided when available, "says Luke owoyesigire in his tweet.

Earlier there was a frenzy on social media after a video went viral of littering the channel prompting activists to react on the matter. "After spending about $ 25M on Nakibubo Channel rehabilitation project thinking the channel is significant given that it is the main drainage channel in Kampala, see what a Police officer and others are doing to the stone-water drainage channel for the city of Kampala #Sad," Dr. Sarah Bireete, the Executive Director for Center for Constitutional Governance lamented on twitter.
