Police Recover Five Stolen Motorcycles, Arrest 11 Suspects
The Police at Bulenga and Wakiso have foiled aggravated robbery involving Mr. Muganzi Felix, a 23-year-old boda boda operator.
In the early hours of April 2, 2024, Mr. Felix was subjected to a harrowing ordeal while fulfilling his duties as a boda boda operator.
Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala Metropolitan police deputy spokesperson said that two individuals, identified as Amanya Joel and another known only as Ibrah, hired Mr. Felix to transport them to Nakuwade area.
However, upon reaching a dimly lit area, they viciously attacked Mr. Felix with a panga, attempting to rob him of his motorcycle, registration number UEN 484A. During the altercation, Mr. Felix bravely resisted, managing to overpower one of the assailants, Amanya Joel, with the assistance of local residents.
Luke said that the other perpetrator fled the scene with Mr. Felix's motorcycle.
The swift response of the Bulenga Police Station led to the apprehension of Amanya Joel and the recovery of Mr. Felix's stolen motorcycle.He said.
During the investigation, the police discovered a cache of five suspected stolen motorcycles and eight motorcycle number plates at Muganda Ali Garage in Natete.
As part of efforts to ensure justice prevails, police have arrested the following individuals to assist in the investigation: - Buye Peter (18 years old) ,Kizza Enock (18 years old), Kayondo Isma (17 years old), Ssenyondo Edward (18 years old)
Others are Sekiwala Joseph (19 years old), Ssempijja Mahadhi (20 years old), Luwaga Swabul (15 years old), Lujja Christopher (19 years old), Sseruga Muzamir (17 years old), Mukuye Dan (22 years old) and Birungi Abdul Mutwalib (17 years old)
Police assured the public that investigations into this matter are ongoing, committed to ensuring that all individuals involved in this criminal activity are brought to justice.
The owner of Muganda Ali Garage, identified as Muganda Ali, remains at large, and efforts to locate and apprehend him are underway.
However Police at Bulenga and Wakiso have extends their gratitude to the community for their cooperation and assistance in apprehending the suspects and recovering the stolen property.
