Police Rescue Kidnapped Child in Mityana District

The Territorial Police in Mityana have recovered Kayima Emmanuel 5yr old male juvenile that had been kidnapped by an unidentified person.

Preliminary findings indicate that on 15/06/2023 at around 4pm at Kinvuunikide Cell, Busimbi Division in Mityana District the victim was waylaid on his way from school, kidnapped and taken to an unknown place.
Later the kidnappers demanded for ransom of 100,000,000 from the parents.

"On the 21st day of June 2023 at about 9:30am we received information that the child had been sighted locked up in an abandoned house belonging to Sengozi Vincent in Kinvuunikide village Busimbi Division Mityana District.
We immediately responded to the scene, broke into the room that had been locked with padlock and rescued the victim," SP Racheal Kawala the PRO Wamala region said.
"We  have recovered clothes belonging to the kidnappers.
The Victim has been recovered alive and has been taken to Mityana Hospital for medical examination. 
He has been reunited with his parents and
efforts are still on to have the prime suspect apprehended for prosecution.
We urge parents and guardians to always be vigilant and always monitor the movements of their children at all times whether to or from school, church, home amongst other places, she added.
