Thugs Broke into Lending Company, Stole 104 National IDs Deposited as Collateral and shs 4M, Arrested.
Two suspects are being detained at Jinja Road Police Station on allegations of theft. The two suspects have been identified as Kwikiriza Evans and Rubogo Sam.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the duo broke into a company office and stole 104 National Identity Cards that people had deposited as collateral and four (4) million shillings.
On the 03 Sep 23 at around 7:30pm one Kwikiriza Evans 22 years a resident of Katuga East, Mitanda parish, Kiwunga subcounty Ntugamo district stole 104 national identity cards from the safe and 4 millions which he had collected since he was a loans officer at T.M.K loans service in Kanaba-Ndejje Busabala road.
"The theft was planned by two people Kwikiriza Evans and Rubogo Sam who was also a former worker in the same company," SSP Patrick Onyango the KMP said.
"The suspect was arrested after a tip-off and flying squad of Kampala Metropolitan police East started following the suspect up to Kanungu-Kihihi where he was arrested with the exhibits in his travel bag," he added.
