Tight Security At CID Headquarters Kibuli As The Premise Is Under Renovation

Security at CID Headquarters in Kibuli is very tight for both workers and visitors as the premise is under Construction, we have learnt.

Our Spies few days ago visited the place but it took them several hours to get access to the premises."There are several check points from the main gate to up and each check point has its own rules and regulations," the security source revealed to our spy.

The security source says the main reason for tight security is ensure the sensitive files don't get lost during the renovation period.

 "You know when the place is under renovation, some people may use the chance and sneak out with sensitive files so we must ensure we tighten security," says a security source.

Another source says security has been beefed up due to high profile people that have been grilled at CID in corruption saga.

"CID is now a target due to sensitive cases we are handling and the nature of people that we summon here so we must make sure that security is very tight for both the detectives and suspects that appear here," another detective tells our under cover spy.

According to highly placed sources from Kibuli, when President Museveni appointed Maj.Tom Magambo to head CID and curb corruption, the man from oil City of Hoima found the headquarters heading to collapse.

Sources say was not happy with the premises and vowed to renovate such that the detective can have a good working conditions where they can grill corrupt government officials. " can you imagine by the time Afande Akullo Grace left CID, the buildings were on the verge of collapse, we had no flashed toilets, offices were leaking and accommodation for officers were all in terrible state," Says a senior detective.

He added that the whole CID was rotten in both structures and management. " Can you imagine the officers would go with sensitive files in their homes because they feared breaking in was so easy because structures were in the worst state," Says another top detectives.

 He says CID Headquarters was like a market where there are several entries and exists. "When Magambo took over CID he told us that the whole CID Headquarters are rotten but promised us that slowly by slowly CID will go back to its top," Reveals another officer.

He says the whole CID was first fenced off to limit entry and exist. "Now you can not access CID Headquarters when you are not noticed unlike before when every body would enter using illegal entries," Reveals another officer.

He says all structures which looked ugly were renovated and now if come to Kibuli you may think its another City. "After renovating structures, Afande embarked on training personnel to handle sensitive issue. " I think every CID officer has undergone two or three courses during the few years of Afande Magambo, "says another source.

 He added the CID boss has placed right people in right offices which used not to be the case with other Directors. "Previously people would come to CID to steal rather than working and they wanted specific offices which they knew had money and they ended up messing the whole files but Afande came in all those ended," another officer told us.

 We have now learnt that Afande Magambo returned to improving CID structures where he intends to set up Complex, Airfield, football pitch for corporate games, good hotels and gyms to make officers fit.

 He has also beefed up security, Put CCTV cameras, check points among others. We have also learnt that the President is soon visiting CID Headquarters where he will launch the construction of airfield and complex.
