Trigger Hungry SFC Soldier Shoots Dead Colleague, Goes Into Hiding

Detectives from Kajjansi Division have launched a manhunt for a UPDF soldier who shot and killed a person over an alcohol disagreement and fled the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Omani George a resident of Kinyarwanda village in Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District. The suspect is identified as Odongo Johnson AKA Chemoges a UPDF soldier attached to SFC and resident of the same area.

According to a report by ASP Biyromumisho Deo police officer and OC Lumuli police station, a resident of lumuli police barracks in the Wakiso District, It's alleged that on the 19th/12/2023 at about 10:30pm at the marua (Ajon) bar of one known as mama Angel located at Kinyarwanda village Kajjansi Town Council in the Wakiso District.

Odongo Johnson AKA chemoges picked up a misunderstanding with now the deceased Omani George over payment of the local brew (marua) that prompted Omani George to relocate to another marua bar belonging to one Nakimuli Rebecca, shortly Odongo Johnson AKA chemoges guarding one of the residences in Akright went to his beat, picked up his weapon, followed Oman George and shot him several bullets killing him instantly then  injured other two.

ASP Biyromumisho said, "a Case file was opened Under CRB 1291/2023 of Kajjansi Police Station and the investigations immediately commenced. The crime scene was visited by territorial police of Kajjansi and soco team led by DPC and OC CID.
Body of Omani George conveyed to Mulago city mortuary for postmortem and the injured as well taken to Mulago for treatment. Police in liason with the sister Forces are hunting for the culprit. More."
