Six Family Members  Arrested Over Beating Muslim Girl  For Turning Christian- Uganda Police Caution Public On Increased Mob Justice

Police in ayivu east are holding a man identified as Twalib over assaulting a woman whom he had mistaken as a thief.

It alleged that the woman 65years was beaten by Twalib Avutya 51 in the Arua district was waiting for her luggage on a bus from the Nebbi district on the arrival of the bus the woman wanted to check for her merchandise but was mistaken to be a thief by Twalib who descended on her with beatings. Twalib was accompanied by other onlookers to assault the woman but was saved by the area police.

Police have however warned the general public on mob justice which resulted in the loss of lives of innocent people.
 
ACP Claire Nabakka the Deputy Police Spokesperson at the media briefing on the general security situation in the country at Police headquarters in Naguru revealed that the file of this case is before the State attorney for advice before the suspect is arraigned in court.

Nabakka has appealed to the public to always report any cases to local authorities and police for proper investigations rather than taking the law into their own hands.

In a related incident, Police in the Kibuku district are still holding Laula Shakira was assaulted by her uncles allegedly accusing her of attending a church service yet she is a Muslim.

The incident occurred in Kadama town council in Kibuku District where the relatives, Geni Jabeli, Nantege Yusufu, Wambesa Muhammed, Wasaleya Issa, Musenero Ziat, Lumans Jabeli, and Koth Usman descended on her and gave her 100 strokes over committing a taboo to their family.

Police cautioned the public on child abuse habits and urged them to always seek legal pieces of advice on all matters concerning parenting.
 
The file is sanctioned to the resident state attorney for approval before the suspects are taken to courts of law.
