Police Officer Kills Self, Leaves A Letter Behind For His Father

Police in Tororo district are investigating circumstances under which a police officer constable Ekisa Emmanuel 27 years dressed in police uniform attached to the Iyolwa Police post Iyolwa sub-county shot himself dead.

On 28/04/2024 at Iyolwa Police Post, Iyolwa Sub-County Tororo district the deceased No. 77087 Ekisa Emmanuel was at the above post on duty armed with rifle No. UgPol 5631005914-23881 with 30 rounds of live ammunition and he was seated at the counter with the O.C Post and other civilians who had come to report.

 He later left and entered into his room when it was drizzling shortly, a gun shot was heard from his room which is door Number 3 from the Charge Office.

The Officer in Charge of the police Post came outside with other people and heard gun power smelling from the deceased's room. They went to his door which was not locked and upon opening they saw the deceased lying on his bed on spinal position in a pool of blood on the mattress with his gun on the chest pointing towards his neck and the safety catch open.

The deceased left behind a declaration letter dated 18/04/2024 addressed to the father and his family that he has decided to die because he is living a stressful life was recovered.

The body of the deceased taken to Tororo General Hospital waiting transfer to Mbale City Mortuary for Postmortem by the Regional Police Surgeon as investigations still ongoing.Police comfirmed.
