Uganda Prisons Service Suspends Visiting Prisoners For A Month- Calls For High Security Alert At Prisons

The Uganda prisons Service has issued strong directives to all prisons heads in the country due to terrorism threats.

The commissioner general of prisons issued this directive to all prison staff effective from 16th December 2024 to 18th December 2025.

Among the daily activities suspended in life, Visiting Prisoners except delivering items to prison gate.

Also hiring prisoners for labour has been suspended.
