ULS Writs To Prisons Seeking Release Of All Civilians Under Trial By Court Martial

The Uganda Law Society has written to the commissioner General of prisons Dr Johnson Byabashaija to release all civilians tried by under the court martial.

This follows the highest court in the land Friday delivered a landmark judgment suspending all proceedings in the General Court Martial (GCM) with immediate effect.

The law society requested for the names of all remand and convict prisoners in every prison in Uganda currently under military jurisdiction .

The society also requested for that nature of offences for each affected individual
