UPDF Eulogizes Killed Kenyan Military Officer in DR Congo
Uganda People's Defense Force UPDF has eulogized a fallen Kenyan peacekeeper.
The Kenyan soldier attached to the East African Community Regional Force (EACRF) was killed on Tuesday in Kibumba in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) following a mortar fire attack launched by rebels.
UPDF Col Michael Hyeroba led the UPDF Contingent to join the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) contingent to pay respect to the fallen KDF peacekeeper under EACRF.
He ordered that flags fly at half mast until the deceased soldier is laid to rest.
The EACRF was meant to help DRC regain peace but has had to deal with more than 100 armed groups.
Earlier in October, Kinshasa said it will not renew the mandate of EACRF once it expires on December 8.
