UPDF's Fighting Helicopter Crashes in Karamoja While on Operation.
Uganda People's Defense Force UPDF/Air force commanders are investigating circumstances under which a helicopter crash landed in Karamoja region. The incident happened on Saturday 29/07/2023 in the evening at 4:00 pm when a UPDF Air force helicopter MI 24 (Gunship) Reg No AF 822 crush landed while on routine operations in Karamoja subregion under 3rd division area of responsibility.
UPDF's spokesperson Brig Felix Kulaigye confirmed the incident adding that it happened at Nadiket village located 5.3 km west of Moroto barracks in Loptuk Subcounty in Moroto district. Brig Felix Kulaigye added that the pilot and three air Crews on board are safe and that the scene has been secured for further management. However Brig Felix Kulaigye could not tell us the cause of accident saying that it will be established by technical team of UPDF Air force experts. This is not the first time UPDF's Helicopters are crashing. Ugandans are awaiting for the comprehensive reports on the causes of the land crashing.
