Youth Leader Charged With Theft OF Shs.10 Million Emyooga Seed Capital Meant For The SACCO.

State House Anti Corruption Unit in conjunction with the Police last evening arraigned the Chairperson Kashari South Youth Leaders SACCO and also Councillor Rubaya Sub-county, Mbarara District, Twinomujuni Victor before the Mbarara Chief Magistrates Court on charges of Theft of Emyooga funds.

 The accused and others at large stole over UGX10M Emyooga Seed Capital meant for the SACCO. He was remanded until 20/03/2024.

His arrest is part of a wider operation in the region where the Unit seeks to arrest and charge before courts persons found culpable for mismanaging Emyooga and PDM funds.

Earlier this week, Following investigations into the alleged mismanagement of PDM funds in Sironko Distict, the Unit arraigned before Sironko Chief Magistrate's Court, the Busita Sub County LC 3 Chairperson Mukota Patrick Benerd and Nambozo Hellen.

 The duo were charged with unauthorized use or interception of computer services and theft. They have been remanded until 21/03/2024 and join Magomu Eddy, who had been previously apprehended.

The accused and their accomplices, who are still at large, utilized a SIM card registered under Magomu Eddy's name to fraudulently obtain UGX5M from the PDM Wendi App accounts of five victims.

 The victims reported this matter to the RDC Sironko, who forwarded it to the Anti corrup[tion Unit State house.
