Angry Kasokoso Residents Kill City Thug, Burn His Body.

 Angry residents of kasokosoko, Kireka ward, Namugongo Division Kiira Municipality Wakiso District killed a suspected thief and later burnt his body, a tragic incident that occurred early this morning.

Upon receiving the information, the police immediately rushed to the scene, only to find the victim's body already set ablaze. It was clear that the mob had taken the law into their own hands and dealt with the suspect themselves.

The police have since launched an investigation into the matter, and it has been established that the deceased was caught trying to steal from someone's residence in the Kasokoso zone. He was apprehended by the community, who proceeded to beat him to death.

“Sadly, this is not an isolated incident, as cases of mob justice continue to be reported in various parts of the country”, Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Oyango said.

He therefore, appealed to members of the public not to take the law into their own hands but to report any suspicious individuals to the authorities.

The deceased's body has been taken to the city mortuary Mulago, for a postmortem examination, and the police are currently following up on leads to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act.

In conclusion, while it is important to hold criminals accountable for their actions, Oyango says it is equally important to follow the proper legal channels to do so.

“Lynching suspects is not only illegal but also a violation of their human rights. Let us all work together to promote peace and security in our communities”, Oyango said.
