Prison Officer Murdered in Cold Blood by Unknown Assailants

Uganda Prisons Service mourns the untimely death of their officer murdered by unknown assailants. The Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr Johnson Byabashaija made the announcement in a presser, of the untimely death of No. 19526 Warder Byaruhanga Bria, a staff of Soroti Main Prison.

According to Frank Baine the Uganda Prisons Spokesperson," The deceased was attacked by unknown thugs on his way from Odokomit Trading Center in Soroti City on Saturday 08/07/2023 at about 10pm and subsequently died on 10/07/2023 from Soroti Regional Referral Hospital."

Baine added that "such barbaric acts are condemned in the srongest terms possible. Police has taken over investigations in regards to the circumstances surrounding the Warder's death. Uganda Prisons Service condoles with the family of the late Warder Byaruhanga Brian."

Burial is scheduled for Saturday 15/07/2023 at his ancestral home, Nyamurindira B village, Kamuganguzi Sub County in Kabale District.
