Burora Remanded To Luzira Prison Until 9th July Over Spreading Hate Speech

Former Rubaga Deputy Resident City Commissioner Anderson Burora has been remanded until July 9th as the state requests more time to amend the charge sheet.

 This is after Burora appeared in the Buganda Road Court dock in Kampala on July 3, 2024.

 Court documents suggest that Burora faces charges related to spreading malicious information, following a barrage of social media posts aimed at Parliament Speaker Anita Among- between March and June 2024.

According to the charge sheet, between March 2024 and June 2024 in the areas of Kampaa District ,while using a computer via X handle, shared malicious nformation relating to the Rt Hon Annet Anita Among, the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Uganda.

He wasTuesday2nd July 2024 detained at Kampale Central Police Station after making a statement on charges of speading hate speech annd computer missuse.

It should be recalled that Burora was on March 14 suspended by the Secretary to the Office of the President, Hajji Yunusu Kakande on grounds that he violated the Uganda Public Service Standing Orders by publicly attacking the Speaker of Parliament
