Interpol Offices in Namisindwa District Burnt to the Ground
Fire has burnt down the offices of International Police Interpol in Lwakhakha Town Council, Namisindwa District.
On Tuesday the 03/10/2023 at about 1pm, officers on duty saw fire coming from the container which houses offices of Interpol at Lwakhakha border.
According to PC Tugume EManuel NO 38644 Police officer attached to Lwakhakha police station & a border Liaison officer, "a suspected electrical circuit caused the fire that burnt down all items and nothing was saved." PC Tugume said, "By the time of the fire out break the office occupant had gone for his lunch."
Items burnt include, one CPU, a Monitor, Printer(01), 2 Working Desks, 4 chairs,
Internet Server, Office cabinets and files, police jacket, biometric scanner and 2 pairs of police uniforms.
Lwakhakha OC Station ASP Mulalira Mustapha informed Fire Brigade, however fire was put off by the help of the community. General inquiries have been opened to ascertain the cause of fire.
