Kiboga Suspected Notorious Kidnapper Nabbed

 The intelligence-led operations carried out on 16th October 2024 by the territorial police in Kiboga have successfully arrested a key suspect allegedly involved in multiple kidnap cases in Kiboga District.

The suspect has been identified as Bukenya Rashid, a 25-year-old male nursing student at Lubaga Hospital Training School and a resident of Mulunga Village, Nakalama Parish, Nkandwa Subcounty in Kyankwanzi District.

 During interrogation, the suspect confessed to participating in two separate kidnappings, registered under case numbers KBG CRB 642/2024 and KBG CRB 629/2024, which occurred on 5th October 2024 and 12th October 2024, respectively, in Kiboga Town.

Preliminary findings indicate that on 5th October 2024, in Saza, Kiboga Town, Kiboga District, an unknown person kidnapped a 4-year-old, the son of Nakalyango Fausta, from their home.

The kidnapper later demanded a ransom of one million Ugandan shillings but was given Shs300,000.

The kidnapper then directed the mother to the location where the victim had been abandoned. The child was recovered alive.

On 12th October 2024, another unknown person kidnapped a 3-year-old, the son of Kansiime Jolly, from the parents' home in Kiboga Town and demanded a ransom of Shs1 million .

A sum of 400,000 UGX was deposited, but our task team successfully rescued the child.

Since then, our task teams have been working tirelessly to ensure that the suspects are brought to justice.

Both phone lines used to deposit the 300,000 UGX and 400,000 UGX have been recovered.

The suspect is currently being held at Kiboga Central Police Station (CPS) and is awaiting a court appearance.
