Let Us Be Part Of Census-Kampala Archbishop Ssemwogerere  Tells Catholic Believers

The Archbishop of Kampala Diocese His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has called up all Catholic Believers across the Country to be part of the upcoming National and Housing Population Census scheduled for 9th May.

 He said this while meeting a team from UBOS led by Chairperson Board Dr Alfred Byamugisha at Lubaga.

The man of  God said Census is good for both government and Catholic Church. "The information gathered is crucial for government but also for the church both here and globally," Reveals Archbishop Ssemwogerere.

He further states that the data called will be used for planning and development. 
He further called upon Enumerators to treat people with respect during data collection process ensuring smooth and successful exercise. "Be accurate while gathering data. Do not give the Nation fake results," He warns.

He also thanked UBOS and the government for facilitating this exercise. "I want to assure you of my full support and prayers for the successful Census," He sounds.

He also called upon the Catholic community and other faith to prepare, support and cooperate with the field staff by giving accurate information.

 "Friday will be a public holiday so we do not expect people to absent. Let all of us stay home and be counted," Says Archbishop Ssemwogerere.

Dr Byamugisha says statistical Data helps for planning and formulation by both government and the church. "The information will help you to know  your faithful believers ,your community in numbers where they live, their needs and services required and enable you to plan accordingly," Says Dr Byamugisha.

He also requested the the Head of Catholic Church in Kampala to rally his followers  to cooperate and support the data collection by responding correctly and accurately.
