Minister Nabakooba Urges Muslims to Give to the Needy

Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba has urged Muslims to always share the little they have with the less privileged. While presiding over Eid prayers at Mityana Central Mosque, the minister called upon the financially able Muslims to always share with the poor.

"Let the well-off Muslims help those that are lacking because that is what Allah expects us to do,” she said.
She congratulated the believers for reaching this year's Eid Al Adha and asked them to pray for all those who sacrificed their lives for the peace in the country.
"We thank Allah for enabling Muslims to reach on this Eid day. Many have died and others are in the hospitals. Thank Him that you are still alive. We need to use the Eid prayers to ask Allah to give Jannah to our brothers and sisters who sacrificed their lives for our country during the bush war," she said during the prayers that were led by Sheikh Abdul-Shakur Suudi Mugerwa.
Sheik Anus Kaliisa, the director of Mityana Central Mosque said slaughtering is a must for all capable Muslims.
"If you converge for prayers and leave without slaughtering, just put it in your mind that you have not prayed. Your prayers will not be accepted by Allah."
He revealed that the challenges that Muslims encountered are all tests set by the Most High and they should work hard and have faith in Him to overcome those problems.
"Allah sets tests that come in form of problems. If we have faith in Him, we have to pass all those tests,” he added.
Ms Prossy Mwanjuzi, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner of Mityana district cautioned Muslims to take care during the Eid period.
"We are all excited because of this day and many have traveled from far to come and celebrate the Eid holidays with their family, but as we enjoy the day, let us take care of our lives," she cautioned the faithful.
