Mother Arrested over Burning Her Daughter over Stealing Meat

Detectives from Luwero Central Police Station are investigating a potential case of child torture. The incident is believed to have taken place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in the Kiyenje zone of Luwero Town Council, within Luwero district.
The victim has been identified as Nakalungi Shanizi Nambooze, a four-year-old belonging to the Baganda tribe.

Residents of the Kiyenje zone in Luwero Town Council, Luwero district, allege that a 27-year-old woman named Nampima Aisha, who is a Muganda by tribe and a resident of the area, was witnessed by locals burning, kicking, and beating her own daughter. The accusations against the child were centered on the alleged theft of meat.

Immediately residents intervened through their area councilor one Zimula Salim and called police that responded and the suspect was arrested, the victim taken to Kasana hospital for treatment and still admitted,

"A case of child torture was registered, scene was visited and documented, statements were recorded from relevant witnesses. 
More inquiries into this matter are still at hand," the Public Relations Officer Savannah Region, ASP TwiineAmazima Sam said.
