MPs Worried About The Small Size Of Condoms In Uganda

Deputy Speaker of parliament Rt Hon.Thomas Tayebwa has  asked the Minister of Health Hon.Jane Ruth Aceng to bring a statement to Parliament next week to respond to concerns by some members of parliament about the small size of condoms in Uganda.
 The regislators also want want to know how far has the ministry gone with  educating the public on condom use, ahead of the commemoration of World Condom Day slated for 13th February 2024.
In response the Minister of Health, Jane Aceng confirmed that indeed the National Condoms day exists and the events are held to purposely sensitize the public on the importance of using condoms, and highlight their effectiveness in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDs and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
According to Uganda AIDS Commission,last festive season, they distributed about 30 million condoms to every corner of the country as some the measures put in place to ensure that ppeople dont contract HIV in case they engaged in sex.
On this case the commission in its effort to tame the transmission of HIV/AIDS managed to map the hotspots where high risk sex usually takes place such as, bars,hotels anf key trading centres.The HIV prevention team said ,they are working with National Medical Stores to ensure that there is enough supply of condoms in all parts of the country.
