Museveni Pledges UGX 20M Towards Construction of Rt. Rev. Charles Martin Wamika’s House.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pledged a cash contribution of UGX 20m towards the construction of Rt. Rev. Charles Martin Wamika’s house. Rt. Rev. Wamika is a Roman Catholic priest, who has been the Bishop of Jinja Diocese since March 2nd ,2010.
The President made the pledge during his stop-over towards Magamaga after commissioning a Marine Pier at the Sustainment Base in Ntokolo, Mayuge District. “Please inform the Bishop that the 3rd Deputy Prime Minister Lukia Isanga Nakadama will bring my cash contribution,” he informed the audience.
The Ntokolo Marine Pier Brigade is vital in ensuring the security of the water bodies. Twenty per cent of Uganda is underwater, and some of it is on the borders with Tanzania, Kenya, and Congo on two lakes, Albert and Edward; therefore, it has many security implications.
Museveni urged the Marine officers to study the history of naval warfare to enhance their capacity to deal with water security matters. "They should know this history since they are our specialists in protecting our water borders," the president said.
President Museveni also thanked the audience for supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and urged them to maintain the overwhelming love for the party.
