National Census Is Not Political Or Tax Collection Exercise- Says Buganda Katikkiro Mayiga

The Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom Charles Peter Mayiga has today revealed that the ongoing National wide Census activities are not political or tax collection activities, Spyreports can exclusively report. 

The Buganda Premier made the remarks while meeting the Management of UBOS at Buganda Kingdom headquarters in Bulange Mengo Kampala District. 

"Don't politicise National Census," Katikiro Mayiga warns political leaders. He says Census is the activity where data is collected for the benefit and development of our Country. 

"I therefore call upon all Ugandans to ensure they are counted come 10th May 2024," Says Katikkiro Mayiga. 

He further assured UBOS ED Dr Chris Mukiza that he will relay Census information to the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Mwenda Mutebi. 

"I will request the Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom Ronald Mwenda Mutebi ll to be counted," Katikiro Mayiga revealed. 

He also thanked UBOS for continuous efforts in ensuring the Nation is fed with relevant statistics. "I want to add my thanks to UBOS for effective collaboration that led to the publication of the Buganda statistics maiden report Manya E Ssaza lyo," he says.

 Katikiro Mayiga finally accepted the nomination of being Buganda Kingdom National Census Champion.

UBOS team was led by ED Dr Chris Mukiza, his Deputy Nabongo Godfrey, Muwonge, Head Communication Mr Didacus Okoth among others bought Kabaka's Birthday Run kits worth shs5million. The Kabaka's birthday Run is scheduled the Sunday 7th April 2024.
