Our Land Policies Must Reform Our Justice System; Minister Nabakooba.

The minister of Lands and Urban Development, Hon Judith Nabakooba while at the 5th conference on land policy in Africa has echoed that land policies must reform Uganda's justice system.

Nabakooba made the remarks at the opening of the five day conference happening in Addis Ababa the African Union headquarters from 21st to 24th November, 2023. The conference has brought together experts around the globe including representatives from AU member states focuses on promoting sustainable land governance in Africa for acceleration of the African Continental Free Trade Area AfCFTA. 

The minister called onto the delegates to find innovative solutions to the challenges faced in land governance. "Our deliberations should pave the way for policies that promote not only economic growth but also environmental sustainability and social justice," Nabakooba said. "Lastly our land policies must reform our land justice systems to reduce the backlog of land cases in our court systems," she added.
