Police in a Manhunt for Student Patron Accused of Child Molesting

The Territorial Police in Rwenzori West and Fortportal East division, is actively searching for a patron to a P.3 pupil aged, 9, at Kasisi Day and boarding primary school.
The facts gathered indicate that a concerned pupil at the school, narrated his ordeal to his mother, after he told her that the Patron was making sexual advances to him and also molesting two other children respectively. The mother informed the headteacher who reported the matter to police.

All the three victims were identified by a medical officer and one of the three victims, was found positive. The victim and two others are already traumatised and are undergoing pyscho-social support. It was further established that the patron, Ssali Joash, a 37 year old, resident of Gezi village, Misindika ward, Kyenjojo Town Council, Kyenjojo District, sexually molested the victim while in the dormitory. We want to thank the Headteacher, for immediately reporting the matter to police. Efforts are now in place, to trace for the suspect and bring him to book, after he escaped from the school and is at large.

In a separate development, the police at Kiira Region and Jinja City are investigating circumstances under which a 15 year old male juvenile, at Jinja College was attacked by a group of students, who tied his mouth with a cloth, and his body to a bed. The naughty students undressed the victim and pushed a stick into his anus on the 14.06.2023.

The victim fell unconscious but was recovered late and rushed to Nile International Hospital, where the stick was removed. The victim had reported 4 students, involved in acts of sodomy, which led to their suspension. Inquiries into the matter continue.

Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson said, "We do strongly condemn all forms of sexual violence and torture in schools. Efforts are in place to ensure, the perpetrators are identified and held accountable for their crimes. We further urge all school proprietors and administrators to provide safe learning environments, to ensure the safety and security of students and the school infrastructure."
