Police Officer Fakes Death Of His Wife, Defrauds Colleagues  Of Shs 400K

Police Officer attached to Old Kampala Police  PC Anyovi Dominic faked the death of his wife and solicited condolences totaling Shs400000 from fellow police officers.

PC Maniriho Shallon working with Anyovi narrates the odeal: it was on 21/06/24 on the day of Friday at around 8:30am when I received a call from PC anyovi Dominic telling me that his wife has died, I told my colleagues who we were around and they said he should go on platform and announce the death, I went to major to give him the information and he said that he has informed him also, major contacted him to tell him to announce on the platforms but anyovi was like he is not a member, major added him immediately and he also posted a photo of him with a deceased, there i started also collecting condolence and at mid day it's when he contacted me that he needs 100k which they hospital is demanding, I delayed to send because I was on a motorcycle traveling from headquarters but reaching the station I found OC Stn and nasasira when they are from sending and I refunded back to them , next day Saturday at around midday anyovi called me saying that he want 300k to buy a coffin, I told him to withdraw direct and he did, after like one hour it's when nakajubi brought to me her phone that I should listen to the audio from the forum of 22nd intake saying that it's a false i mformation , immediately I called OC Stn and forwarded the clip to him but he told us to first keep quite as he investigates the matter, next day on Sunday the rumor was too much at the station and it's when oc told us to look for a best friend to anyovi of where we were directed to pc pariyo Jackson who also made us acces the contacts of the wives and when we called them they received calls and told us that it's a lie they are alive, later I remembered  that I had a number of his real brother whom we called and told us that it's a lie and there's nothing like burial and anyovi is there in the village enjoying pass leave and that what I can state and it's true

A total collection was Shs1,171,000 but Shs400000 was sent to anyovi so we have the balance of Shs710000 remained with the collector.
