President Museveni To Launch Poverty Eradication Projects In Central Buganda Diocese

The President of the Republic of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni is set to visit Central Buganda Diocese, under, Bishop Michael Lubowa, at Kasaka Gomba District to the Various projects he extended to the diocese.

The function is scheduled this coming September 2024 at Central Buganda diocese cathedral where the president will tour the development projects diary, piggery and 20 acres coffee plantation.

 

The president gave 40 fresian cows and 200 piglets to the diocese, completed the Bishop's Palace, Set of art home for the retired Rev Con Kanakulya at Kasaka Mityana road and a set of art Maize Milling Plant which Bishop Lubowa said has supported many schools, business community and farmers who got market for their maize.

The president will thereafter officially handover these projects to Central Buganda Diocese, Kasaka Gomba District. Said Bishop, Michael Lubowa.

The function is co-organised by Team Thorough YKM Kira House headed by Special, Presidential Mobiliser, On Poverty Eradication Programs, and Development, headed by Pastor Robert Mbabazi who also doubles as the chairman organising committee of this mega function.

 Pastor Mbabazi Said that, President Museveni, and his Gorvenment, always come up with development projects, in Uganda, but the most important part of it, is sensitization of wanainchi, to know and understand, how things are done in all Gorvenment projects, and follow them up, for their final benefitiaries.

He noted that there still challenges in some government projects like Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, which need to be addressed.   

"President Museveni's visit to Central Buganda Diocese, is a sign of parental love, commitment towards developing Uganda, just like the 4 acre model, Kisozi, Nyakana in Fort Portal. Which the President, has been monitoring, and supervising, on his full strength". Said Pastor Mbabazi 

The President accompanied by the First lady Janet Kataha Museveni will be updated on the progress of  poverty eradication projects in  Kasaka, Kanoni, Muddu, Mpenja, and the Districts of greater Mpigi.  

Bishop Michael Lubowa commended President Museveni for playing a critical role in the development of the Diocese.

“His Excellency, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is my number one Christian. He is very positive and has largely contributed to the establishment of all our projects. We owe our fast growth to him, his family and government of Uganda.” Bishop Lubowa has always revealed.

He added, “We now have a number of tractors with ploughs, planters and trailers which cultivate people’s gardens irrespective of their religious and political affiliation, 20 acres of coffee , 40 acres of banana plantation, instructed all parishes to have a minimum of 2 acres of coffee,  re-stocking our health facility and began plans to establish an irrigation scheme promised by Gomba District Local Government. 

"I thank Uganda Coffee Development Authority for their tremendous support towards our coffee growing agenda.” Bishop Lubowa.

Central Buganda Diocese was formed in 1995 after the sub-division of West Buganda Diocese with headquarters and Cathedral in Kasaka, Gomba District and covers the Districts of Mpigi, Butambala, Gomba and partly Mityana (Busujju County).
