Thousands of Muslim faith believers have today flocked to different worship centers to celebrate Eid al-Fitr after completing the fasting period with a general message of unity from faith leaders.
Mufti of Uganda Sheik Shaban Ramathan Mubajje while leading the congregation in Eid prayers, urged Muslims to embrace government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM).
He said it is not against the Muslim faith's teaching to embrace government problems.
From Kibuli Mosque Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu has called upon govt to reduce what he called unnecessary wasteful expenditures in the form of travels abroad and endless benchmarking.
He said that the government to revisit its priorities and stick to only those that bring services closure to the communities.
The prince has also reminded the government to set free all political prisoners saying that it is only two years for the general elections.
''Its time for the government to consider the proposals for the lists of political prisoners from the opposition tabled in parliament and those supporting the ruling party still in prisons to have them released'' The prince said
On the same occasion, Prince Nakibinge also launched a translated Quran into the Luganda language.
Former minister without portfolio and Presidential Advisor on Buganda Affairs, Al-Hajji Abdul NaddulAl-Hajji Abdul Nadduli is not happy with the ruling National Resistance Movement party for giving special attention to the new entrants into the Party saying that old members are being neglected.
Hajji Nadduli also expressed dissatisfaction with the government for failing to settle the Luweero question where some liberators are still demanding their appreciation packages.
He made these remarks while attending Eid el Fitr prayers at Kasana Mosque Ground in Luwero district.
