Speaker Anita Storms Police Demands Release of Female MPs

Security was very tight at Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala as the Speaker of Parliament Hon Anita Annet Amongo personally came to police to have all the detained  female Opposition Members of get released.
Police had earlier arrested the legislators and they were heading to Ministry of Internal Affairs to deliver their petition over brutality by police officers.
As they they were matching, police brutaliry arrested them banged them on police patrols and were taken CPS Kampala where they were detained.
Their brutal arrest was first condemned by the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa.
Later on when the Speaker knew that there were plans to have the legislators charged before courts of law, she immediately rushed to CPS and ordered for their release. She first held a meeting with KMP Commander and talked to her MPs before they were all released. "I want to warn and caution all men and Women in Uniform that they should stop brutal arrests to Ugandans saying they are always violating their human rights," Says Speaker.
