Stray Bullet Injures 12 Year Old Child As Man Tried To Shoot At A Suspected Thief

  The Kawempe Police Division Kanyanya are investigating the Shooting of Babalanda Edrine male juvenile aged 12 years old Muganda son of Babalanda Moses resident of Kasangati and Driver of Motor vehicle UBQ 699B Toyota Harrier black in colour.

  It is alleged that at about 2125/c the night of 31/12/2024, Nsubuga Robert male adult 39 years Muganda Driver of Mmotor Vehicle Reg. number UBC 939 D Toyoya Hiace (Taxi) resident of Namavundu kasangati, Wakiso District came to Kanyanya police station and reported a case of shooting at the vehicle he was driving by the driver of Motor vehicle UBQ 699 B Toyota Harrier black in colour and a stray bullet injured one of his passengers who was seated in the behind sit, a male juvenile aged 12 years.

The victim was rushed by his father to a nearby clinic but was reffered to Mulago Hospital.

When Nsubuga Robert asked the shooter why he shot at the taxi, he said that he was shooting at thieves who had attempted to steal from him while driving.

 The shooter then drove off after being informed that he had injured a person in the taxi.

Motor Vehicle UBQ 699B has been blacklisted to be impounded.

Statements were obtained from some of the passengers who were in the taxi. Inquiries at hand and detailed report to follow.
