Traffic Accidents Drop Sharply: 50% Decrease in Fatalities and Injuries in the Past Week

Traffic Police have noted a significant decrease in the occurrence of traffic accidents in the past week. Michael Kananura, the spokesperson for the police traffic and road safety directorate, reported that a total of 222 accidents were recorded in the recently concluded week. 

Among these incidents, 57 fatalities were recorded, and 146 individuals sustained severe injuries. This is in contrast to the previous week, which saw 451 accidents and resulted in 79 fatalities.

"We are issuing a warning to motorcyclists who disregard traffic rules, which includes not wearing reflective jackets and using expired riding licenses," Kananura said.
