CMI On Spotlight Over Murder
Police detectives attached to Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) have started serious investigations under which operatives attached to Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) shot dead a civilian woman during their operations, Spyreports has learnt.
According to information obtained by this website, the heavy gun fire operation which claimed the life of innocent civilian woman occurred at around 5:30am. The murdered woman has been identified as Jackline Nalwanga a resident of Nakabugo in Wakiso District.
According to KMP spokesperson Patrick Onyango, CMI got information that some people rob civilians early morning while putting on military Uniform. "CIM even identified the prime suspects in the robberies," says Onyango.
He added when CMI came to do their under cover operations, they reported to DPC Wakiso and informed him about their operation. Onyango says, the DPC also informed the OC Station Nakabugo about the operation.
Onyango added at around 6:00am, CMI started their operations and wanted to arrest the prime suspects who were indetified as Kiboneka Joseph, Nsaba Niclous, Ssemakula Henry and Ssenyonyi Wyclife. "When CMI operatives went and knocked on the door of Kiboneka, he refused to open and they applied force to break in such that he can be arrested," Says Onyango. He added during the process, Kiboneka made a lot of noise which attracted the masses. He says CMI operatives shot several live bullets to disperse the masses that had converged. "During the heavy shooting, a bullet got one Nalwanga who was about 40 meters from the shooting scene," He said adding that she was rushed to Nakasero Hospital where she died from. He added that her body was later transfered to Mukago Hospital for postmortem. "Investigations into the killing are on going and we shall reveal more details in the due course," he stated. He further said that the search went a head and CMI recovered, some military iteams in the houses of the suspects. He added that they are all held in police custody pending to be prosecuted in courts of law.
