Five Arrested Over Stealing Cows, Goats From Mubende-Kassanda Districts
The Territorial police in Mubende have arrested five (5) suspects for being in possession of suspected stolen property.
The suspects were arrested in joint intelligence led operation of police,Updf ,district agricultural officers,district veterinary officers amongst others that was held on 24th October 2024 in Busenya village,Kalonga parish,kalonga Subcounty in Mubende district.
The suspects have been identified as Lugamba Vicent also known as Kiswa a 38yr old business man, Luwomwa Brian male adult a 20 year old, Ssekyanzi Vincent male juvenile aged 16years, Twinomukuni John male aged 20 years .and Bisirikirwa Frank male aged 18 years.
All the suspects are residents of Busenya village , Kalonga parish , Kalonga subcounty in Mubende district .
A search was conducted in the premises of the suspects and several items were recovered including - Six(6) black Cows, Four(4) brown cows, one (1) Motorcycle reg no.UET 132A Baja red in color, four (4) bags of dry premature coffee,7 n half bags of raw premature coffee,three (3) smart phones, eight(8) button phones, one (1) LC1 stamp of Kakenzi village,kigenzi parish,Madu Sub county in Gomba district, one (1)LED screen TV 17 inches black in color,Two(2) National identity cards in the names of Akankwasa Jacline and Tuyisenge Lauben, Five (5) simcards - 2 MTN and 3 Airtel ,Two (2) weighing scales, three slot machines, and Five (5) pangas.
Statements have been recorded from relevant witnesses It has been established that the suspects allegedly deal in stealing cattle, goats especially from Kasanda district, stealing premature coffee, motorcycles and other electronics and also deal in shop breaking and thefts in Mubende and Kassanda districts.
SP Racheal Kawala the police spokesperson Wamala region said that the suspects are being held at Mubende CPS for interrogation as Investigations are still ongoing.
