Police in Luwero district on the eve of the census night 9th May 2024 arrested and detained one of the Enumerators a student at Bukarasa Agricultural College in Luwero and a resident of Wobulenzi Town Council trained for this 2024 National Housing and Population Census after reporting that unknown people broke into this suspect's rented house and stole all his phones and the census gadgets
Uganda Bureau of Statistics UBOS provided computer tablets to enumerators for the 20242025 census exercise
However Police in katwe have arrested one sekaaya Grek after being found selling the UBOS Census Tablet that exactly was stolen from Luwero.
The susect was found in sembule zone in Lubaga Division in Kamala city. Luke Owoyesigyire the kampala metropolitan police spokesperson noted that investigations are still on going
This come as tthe National Population and Housing Census 2024 concludes he 4th enumeration day across the country.
The data from the National Census is used to improve the job market by evaluating the current rates of employment and joblessness among specific groups within the society said the Census body.
By the end of yesterday, 13th May 2024 UBOS reported that the enumerators had covered close to 6million and aims to cover the whole population whose estimate is 45 millions. urging the public to coperate with the Census team.
