How President M7 Sowing The Mastered Seed Book, Obama, Mandela Inspired Me To Write My Book- UDC ED Dr Birungi Reveals
The executive Director of Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) which is the only industrial arm of government Dr Patrick Birungi has revealed that reading the books of important people like sowing the mastered seed written by President Yoweri Museveni, others written by former USA President Barack Obama and former South African President Late Nelson Mandela inspired and motivated him to write his own book,Spyreports exclusively caught up with him in an interview.
The PHD graduate Dr Birungi shared his life moments during the launch of his book titled 'BIRUNGI Grace Unlimited'.
The launch took place at Kabira Country resort in Bukoto and was graced by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa and other big shots in government who included Minister David Bahati,PSST Ramathan Ggobi,Former Trade Minister Amelia Kyambadde, EDs of different agencies among others were present.
Dr Birungi says "I have been reading Biography of big legends like Obama,Mandela and I was inspired to write my own book,". He reveals that he had planned to write his own book but he would not get time due high schedule. " I remember I was once terribly sick and I was home and as sickness reduced I got bored and that is when I started writing this life history book," Sounds Dr Birungi.
He further adds that during his sick leave, he read the book of Late On a Peter titled tears of triampher which also excited him to write his own book.
He adds that his life story also demanded him to write a book about him self. " I have lived in both bad and good situation in my life and I know there are many people who live in bad situation and think they can not come out from it, " he says adding no life is permanent in this world.
Dr Says his life started well because his patents especially the mother was working as a nurse.
"My situation somehow turned bad when my mother was being transfered to different places of work and I was left in the hands of grand mother. It was a bit of struggle.
"My education was through struggle and I couldn't believe that I would be here", He says adding during his primary education, he could move 8kms from his home and back in the evening. " I started my academic Journey from St Augustine Demonstration school Butiiti and I remember I had no uniform," he narrates.
He says during his primary life he faced a lot of struggles of which some could have ended his life. "One day, our teacher Mrs Ruharuza asked me to carry her books to her home in staff quarters. When I got there, I found her children playing with toys and I joined them. By the time I was reminded to go back home it was late and my brother Jimmy had also left. I set off at around 7:00pm and as I was walking past Butiiti dispensary, from no where I heard two men shouting in Kiswahili Kula Kula eat him, eat him as they run towards me. I want to believe that the speed I used to reach home would have left Kiprotich and Cheptegei in awe," Narrated Dr Birungi saying it was the worst moment of his education.
He says the kula kuka men lost the chase and I saved my life. "I never got to know who they were, whether they were pulling a prank on me or they were really out to make a meal out of my young body," he shockingly revealed.
Dr Birungi says the worse came to the worst when he got home willing to reveal the terrible story, he was never listened to but instead his grand mother got the stick and caned him and told him never to come home late. "The two lessons being chased by strange men and my grandmother beating me taught me never to deviate from the laid out routine. This was a life lesson for me," he says.
He says after finishing his primary education out of struggle, he performed well and was admitted at Nyakasura but unfortunately he could not join the school of his choice due to financial issues.
"I ended up at Mpanga S S which was a day school in Fort portal town".
"The journey was 32Kms which I could not walked and my Auntie Akiiki Jane Kajumba offered me a house at her humble home in Harukooto," Dr reveals to use on pool side.
He says his journey to life has not been easy but he encourages people who are facing the same challenges not to lose hope because things can change in life. He says he will keep writing more books about his life journey and also call upon other people to write books about their life journey. "With such stories we learn a lot and people must share theirs experience in life," he says.
