Parliament impeaches Vice President

Kenyan Parliament has impeached the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on grounds of corruption.

 The House voted 281 to 44 to impeach him. He will go down in Kenyan history as the first deputy president ordered to leave office.

Earlier on Gachagua had vowed to fight the impeachment to the end.

However, the only hope now remains to the Senate to overturn DP Rigathi Gachagua’s Impeachment by the National Assembly. More details coming...
