Police Chief Dies of Suspected Poison from Hotel.

Police has lost one of its own due to suspected poisoning in the Elgon region.  The deceased has been identified as AIP Ameny John Bosco, a police officer attached to FFU Elgon in Mbale.

The incident occurred on June 28, 2023, during an integrated patrol in Busiu Town Council. The deceased and another officer Patrick Mark Komakech ordered food, but their orders were delayed. The next morning, the deceased experienced stomach pain and fever, sought medical attention, and was put on malaria treatment. The latter also fell ill and was admitted to Mbale Police Health Centre III.

Unfortunately, the condition of the deceased worsened and he was pronounced dead at Mbale General Clinic. Komakech is currently admitted at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. The police have taken the necessary action, including delivering the body for a postmortem examination and conducting inquiries into the matter.
