President Museveni Compensates Kisoro District Mudslide Victims with 5million Shillings Each.

Mudslide victims in Kisoro District have each received a condolence contribution of five million Shillings from President Yoweri Museveni. 

The president last week mourned the victims with a condolence of 5 million Shillings to each family who lost a relative and 1 Million Shillings per injured person.  

In his message, delivered by Esther Davinia Anyakun, State Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, President Museveni said that other victims from the other districts will receive money in the coming weeks. Anyakun asked residents to seek refuge at Bwiizi Primary School for safety. 

At least 10 people were killed after heavy rain caused mudslides in Murora sub-county and Bunagana town council.  The mudslides also claimed the lives of about eight more people in Rukiga, Rubanda, Kanungu, and Kabale.
