President Museveni Lectures CID officers on Principles of Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Social Economic Transformation and Democracy.

President Yoweri Museveni has held a lecture on Tuesday at State House, Entebbe with police officers from the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID).

"I underscored the importance of having peace and a crime free society if we are to achieve social economic transformation." The president said.

"If there is crime and insecurity, investors cannot come here because the cost of doing business would be very high," Museveni added.

He thanked the Police authorities for listening to his advice to continuously train their officers. "They should always do their work, keeping in mind the ideology of the NRM that is anchored on 4 principles: Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, Social Economic Transformation and Democracy," President Museveni concluded.

The lecture comes at the aftermath of two killings in a space of one week. On Tuesday, 2nd May 2023, Col (rtd) Charles Patrick Okello Engola, the former State minister for Labour was shot dead at his home in Kyanja by one of his bodyguards Pte. Wilson Sabiti. The other incident happened on Saturday 6th May 2023 where unknown assailants shot at close range and killed Ugandan Vlogger Isma Ibrahim Tusubira alias Olexis alias Jaja IculI at around 9:20 PM near his home in Kyanja Central Zone.
