State Minister for Planning Amos Lugoloobi Denied Bail, Remanded to Luzira Prison.

The Minister of State for Planning, Amos Lugoloobi, has been denied bail by the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo. He has been remanded to Luzira Prison until his next court appearance on April 20th, following his arrest in connection with the Karamoja iron sheets scandal.

Mr. Lugoloobi was intercepted by security operatives on his way to Entebbe International Airport and was subsequently taken to Kira Division Police station, where he was detained until Monday when he was brought before the court.

The charges against him relate to the mismanagement of iron sheets meant for the Karachunas, a group of youth warriors in Karamoja. He has however pleaded not guilty.
