Suspected Terrorist Arrested From Zambia Arraigned In Buganda Road Court On Terrorism Charges

One of the suspected terrorist Swaleh Abubakar, a 31-year-old arrested in Zambia, has been arraigned before Buganda Road Court this morning.

 He faces charges of terrorism financing and providing technical support to the ADF in Congo and South Africa.

Abubakar is also linked to a group arrested on May 4th, 2024, with improvised explosive devices in Kawempe Division.

Swaleh was arrested in Zambia and added to Augustine Kalanzi who was arrested from Masaka and Suleiman Nsubuga arrested in Busia.

The Director Defence Public Information Brig. Felix Kulaigye noted that the trio are said to be part of a group of terrorists commanded by one called Punisher ,alias Meddie Nsubuga or Kalubo who is the master minder of their terrorists's activities that include  the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and assassination of some individuals.

Security experts describe the IED as a destructive  device used to destroy, incapacitate, harass and distract.
