Tension In Bulenga As Panga Wielding Men Raid The Area, Kill Female Adult As Several Left With Terrible Wounds

Residents of Bulenga village in Sumbwe Zone in Wakiso District are living under serious fear and tension after they got information that panga wielding killers raided the areas and killing people and leaving others with severe wounds on their bodies.

According to residents who we talked to say their fear came after they found a body of a female adult stubbed to death and her body dumped alongside the road. "We discovered the body of a young gal seriously stubbed and dumped alongside the road.

The whole body had several injuries on her body and were fresh," Says one of the local residents. He added that they now fear to walk to work early morning as they fear for their lives.

"Several people have claimed to have been robbed early morning by panga wielding people as they go for work," Reveals another resident adding they have reported the matter to police but all in vain.

Another woman says some robbers use taxis to rob people. "At around 5:30, a taxi comes claiming to be heading to Kampala and when you enter they drive a small distance and they rob us completely," another woman narrates to us."We have a serious insecurity in our area yet the police is in the trading center," another business person says.

Luke Owoyesigyire the deputy police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan says security is on the ground hunting for the assailants. "We got the information at around 8:00am that a female adult between 20-26years was stubbed to death and another one Namukwaya was also stabbed to near death," he says adding the survivor was taken to Mulago hospital for treatment while the dead body was taken to mortuary for postmortem.

He added police has tightened its operations in the area to ensure people and their properties are safe. He also assures the public that those criminals will be arrested and face the law. "The public should remain calm as their security is guaranteed," he says.
