Traffic Police Warns Motorists On Rainy Season Hazards n

 As the rainy season sets in, the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety has reminded all motorists to exercise extra caution on the roads.

 Fog, mist, heavy rainfall, flooded roads, and reduced visibility can make driving conditions increasingly hazardous.

 To Ensure Your Safety on the Road drivers are urged to Maintain their Vehicle, Check tires, brakes, and lights to ensure they are in good working condition.

SP Micheal Kananura the traffic police spokesperson also appealed to motorists to Slow Down, Reduce speed and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.

"Avoid Flooded Areas, Do not drive through standing water, as it can be difficult to gauge the depth and may cause your vehicle to stall or be swept away.Increase Visibility,Use headlights and ensure windshield wipers are in good condition to improve your visibility. Avoid Overtaking Reduce the risk of crashes by avoiding overtaking, especially in poor visibility conditions".He said.

 If visibility is extremely poor, find a safe place to park & wait until conditions improve. By following these simple yet crucial safety tips, you can significantly reduce the risk of crashes and ensure a safe journey. Safety is everyone's responsibility. Stay vigilant, drive responsibly and arrive alive.He added.
