Ministers Given 30 Days To Return Covid PickUPS

In 2020, the fight for the improvement of Health services were not limited to Govt efforts but also President Museveni

called on Ugandans to join efforts.

The President’s call was that response going forward even after COVID-19 should be commensurate to the emerging demands in Local Govts countrywide. Many Ugandans contributed both money and Physical cars.

Disturbing to hear is that; some districts and other ministry Departments are short on Mobility yet some cars have been shared amongst Ministers.

It is disturbing that Cars meant for improving the health sector are doing shopping and dropping their children to school. Some have been confiscated by LC 5 chairperson leaving District Health Officers without ability to do their work yet Govt and The President took initiative to that regard.

The Deputy RCC Rubaga, Anderson Burora said that, the ministry of health and the Permanent are given 30days to withdraw all Cars meant for Covid-19 and Health Response from Ministers and LC5 Chairpersons currently using them and redistributing them to where they are supposed to be deployed. At the end of the month if they are not withdrawn.

'We shall name the Ministers and Chairperson who are wrongfully abusing the initiative of the President' Burora said. It’s time that we respect those who deserve the respect and not the blackmail of Positions and closeness to authority.
