94 People Died On Ugandan Roads In 5 Days

A report from the Traffic and Road Safety Directorate of Police shows that 94 people died on Ugandan roads between January 10 and January 15 2022.

350 sustained injuries.

These are out of 393 accidents that happened across the country. Of these, 68 were fatal, 215 were serious and 110 minor injuries.

During this period, 9,241 traffic offenders were arrested.

According to Faridah Nampiima, the causes of accidents during this period was over speeding, reckless driving, DMCs among others.

“We remind all road users to be vigilant while using the roads and drivers to avoid reckless driving since its the major cause of fatalities on our roads,” Nampiima said.
