Nigerian Singer Omah Lay Remanded Over Flaunting Covid 19 Guidelines

Makindye court has today remanded a Nigerian singer Omah Lay and others for defying a presidential directive and holding illegal music concert. The illegal concert was held at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Saturday whereby thousand of revealers attended without adhering to Covid 19 guidelines.

He was remanded together along with Temilade Openyi alias Tems and Muyiwa Awomiyi who are Nigerians and four other Ugandans that included Benjamin Kabura the organizer, Ivan Ddungu, the manager of the place where the concert was held, and Prim Kasana, the event manager who contracted Omah Lay to sing.

They appeared before Makindye court today. 

Their arrest stemmed from pressures from Ugandan entertainers and ordinary citizens accusing police of failing to stop the concert that took-place at Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo on Saturday night in the wake of COVID-19.
