COVID-19: Uganda Records One More Death as 99 Test Positive

Uganda has recorded one COVID-19 death today. The deceased is a Ugandan female aged 45 years old resident of Kampala.

This brings the total of COVID-19 deaths to 29.

Relatedly,the ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 91 new COVID-19 cases from the 4,475 samples taken on 28 August 2020.

Of the 91 new cases, 88 are contacts and alerts including 44 from Kampala, 18 from Luweero, 6 from Kikuube, 5 from Wakiso, 3 from Tororo,3 from Ntoroko, 3 from Jinja, 2 from Kitgum, 1 from Buikwe, 1 from Gulu, 1 from Lira, and 1from Mukono.

Other cases include; 1 health worker from Luweero and 2 truck drivers who arrived via Malaba.

The ministry adds that three (3) foreign truck drivers who tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry were not permitted entry into the country.

Todate, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 2847 confirmed cases and 1,288 recoveries.
